So, what are funnels and landing pages? That’s the million dollar question right now with business owners looking to expand online or simply start a business online.

So first let me explain what the term “sales funnel” means: The definition of the sales funnel (also known as a revenue funnel or sales process) refers to the buying process that companies lead customers through when purchasing products. A sales funnel is divided into several steps, which differ depending on the particular sales model. Below I’ll show you an example.

  1. Advertisement – This could be a Facebook AD that will direct users to your landing page
  2. Landing Page  – This could be a page with an “subscribe to get offer” deal so you get their email
  3. Target Users – This could be where you send special emails to all the users that signed up with their email (maybe a product for sale)

Ok now I will get into the landing page part of this. A landing page is the section of a website accessed by clicking a hyperlink on another web page, like a Facebook or Google Advertisement. A landing page is typically pretty basic and simple. The reason behind this is to cause less distraction. Unlike a normal website that has lots of links, tabs and places to travel to a landing page usually has only one way to go, the end game.

Now that you have a understanding what funnels and landing pages are you might be thinking how you can get one.

You probably have seen some AD’s for services offering these. Some of these services go for $300 – $500 a month. What that usually includes is a “web builder” to construct your landing page. And an email marketing tool that sends emails to your sign ups.

If you don’t have that kind of loot every month (let’s be honest if you’re a new business owner that’s probably too high, at least before growing your empire) there’s still hope! This is going to require some work on your part, if you’d like to do this on your own. Below is a list of what you’ll need to make your own landing page for your sales funnel.

  1. Domain Name – $20 YEARLY w/ogderek
  2. Web Hosting   – $10 MONTHLY w/ogderek
  3. SSL                 – $0 FREE w/ogderek
  4. WordPress      – $0 FREE w/ogderek
  5. Mailchimp       – $0 FREE up to 1000 emails

How come all these others cost $500+?

I guess the $495 is probably going towards said companies landing page builder and email marketing tools they offer. But if you can take the time to learn WordPress and Mailchimp you won’t need fancy tools!
